AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Standing 4" tall and measuring 3.5" in diameter, this Waterford Crystal Illuminology Diama scented candle dates to the collection’s 2013 introduction. The substantial cylindrical crystal vessel features a bold architectural arrangement of deeply defined vertical ridges, recessed panels and geometric cuts designed to capture, reflect and multiply candlelight. Waterford developed the Illuminology collection as a marriage of fine crystal, fragrance and interior lighting. Four individual designs—Luma, Candela, Chroma and Diama—were produced with distinct crystal cutting patterns and corresponding fragrances. Diama was originally presented with an aromatic composition of mint leaves, jasmine flowers, white tea and bamboo. The crystal vessel retains a substantial portion of the original white poured candle and was intentionally designed for continued use as a candleholder after the original wax was consumed. Period retailer information identifies production in Germany and records an original retail price of $75. Retains the gold-and-black Waterford Crystal seahorse foil label to the exterior. Waterford adopted the distinctive seahorse as a company trademark in 1947, drawing inspiration from the heraldic sea creature represented on the Waterford City coat of arms. The familiar modern form of the emblem was refined in 1986. While this foil label does not represent a separate or superior grade of Waterford crystal, survival of the original label provides desirable brand identification and contributes to collector interest. The underside retains the circular factory-applied WATERFORD ILLUMINOLOGY ©2013 WWRD candleholder warning label, providing firm documentation of the collection and production period. The Illuminology line has since been discontinued, adding further interest to this identifiable Diama example. CONDITION REPORT > Seems to have been lit at some point, but apparently not for long, as the wax seems settled as new.
