AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A decorative blue-glazed pottery hummingbird feeder measuring 8" in diameter and about 3"–4" tall to the center cover, designed for either hanging display or placement on a flat surface. The broad saucer-form body is extensively decorated in raised relief with floral, leaf and naturalistic motifs beneath a richly varied turquoise, cobalt and blue glaze, producing considerable depth and surface texture. The fitted center cover lifts away to allow the reservoir to be filled with sugar-water nectar, while a series of small feeding ports positioned around the shoulder allow hummingbirds to access the nectar. Ceramic hummingbird feeders commonly use this same covered-reservoir and feeding-port arrangement. The feeder is fitted with copper wire and an upper hook for hanging, while the short raised base also permits the piece to rest securely on a tabletop, pedestal, garden stand or other flat surface. Hanging ceramic feeders are frequently supported with metal or copper-colored wire systems, combining decorative garden presentation with functional nectar feeding. The extensive relief decoration and flowing blue glaze give the piece considerably more decorative presence than a typical molded plastic feeder, making it equally effective as a functional hummingbird feeder or colorful garden accent. CONDITION REPORT > As discovered, not cleaned or altered ~ Well preserved, as shown.
