AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Diminutive -2- piece studio pottery cup and saucer by Mississippi Mud Works of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The cup stands 1.75 inches tall and measures 2 inches in diameter across the body, not including the extended handle, while the matching saucer measures 3.25 inches in diameter. The notably small scale suggests the set may have been intended as a child’s cup and saucer, a miniature serving piece, or simply as a whimsical display example. Both pieces are finished in a richly variegated glaze moving through blue, green, brown and cream tones, with the cup formed with a rounded body and generously extended loop handle. Mississippi Mud Works was established in 1989 by potters Jim and Betty Francis in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, becoming part of the Gulf Coast studio pottery tradition. The undersides carry hand incised Mississippi Mud Works identification and corresponding potter markings. CONDITION REPORT > A notably well preserved example displaying no overt issues.
