AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Vintage L. Tremain Petit Butter Bell crock finished in a clean white glaze. The lower crock stands 3 inches tall, not including the raised upper section, and measures 3.5 inches in inside diameter. The two-piece design incorporates a hollow butter cup within the upper section. Softened butter is packed into the cup, which is then inverted into the lower crock above a shallow amount of water, creating the traditional Butter Bell storage system intended to keep butter covered and readily spreadable at room temperature. L. Tremain introduced the Original Butter Bell Crock in the mid-1990s, adapting the traditional French beurrier into a modern countertop butter keeper. The company became closely associated with this distinctive style of butter crock, with the Butter Bell name developing into a recognized kitchenware brand. The compact Petit form applies the same functional concept in a smaller countertop size, with the raised upper section giving the assembled piece a distinctive covered profile. CONDITION REPORT > A notably well preserved example displaying no overt issues.
