Vintage OLSEN O.K. HUNTING KNIFE & LEATHER SHEATH

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Vintage Olsen O.K. Brand fixed blade hunting knife measuring approximately 8.75 inches overall, fitted with a 4 inch blade, dark wood handle, metal finger guard with hooked quillon and leather lanyard at the butt. The knife is accompanied by the original heavy brown leather sheath, stitched along the perimeter and prominently stamped ~OLSEN O.K. BRAND~ within the circular maker logo. The leather retaining strap is fitted with a brass snap button also appearing to carry the OLSEN O.K. marking. Olsen Knife Company was a well-known American sporting knife maker associated with Howard City, Michigan, producing hunting, fishing and utility knives that developed a following among outdoorsmen and later collectors. Olsen knives are especially recognized for practical fixed blade patterns, substantial wood handles and branded leather sheaths, with surviving examples now commonly collected as vintage American sporting cutlery. Although no readily visible maker mark was located on the knife itself, the fitted branded sheath, snap hardware and overall construction are consistent with an Olsen O.K. Brand hunting knife of this type. CONDITION REPORT > Extensive oxidation, rust and surface corrosion are present throughout the blade, with additional age related wear to the handle, guard, leather lanyard and sheath. The retaining strap remains present, though the snap receiver is lacking, preventing the strap from fastening. As discovered, not cleaned or altered.
