Hornady 6.5-06 Custom Grade 2 Die Set 546280

A Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension two die set for the 6.5-06, Series IV, full length, item 546280, in the red Hornady box with the foam insert. The end label calls for shell holder number 1. The set is two dies, being the full length sizing die and the seating die, plus the spare decapping pin holder. The seating die body is stamped 6.5-06. The 6.5-06 is a wildcat, a 30-06 Springfield case necked down to .264 inch, and it was pushing 140 grain bullets fast and flat long before the factory 6.5 cartridges made the bore popular. Nobody stocks dies for it, so an owner of a 6.5-06 rifle either finds a set like this or orders custom. Hornady Custom Grade dies use an elliptical expander and a sliding alignment sleeve in the seater to keep bullets straight. Dies are clean with light surface oil and normal handling marks, threads and lock rings are intact and no rust or galling is visible in the photos. Condition is very good.
