Commemorative Granulated Gold Locket, Commissioned for L??ontine Emma Dreyfus (16 Nov 1867 - 23 Jul 1945), crafted by Froment-Meurice. <br><br>5*2.5cm Wt:19.4g<br><br>Mid-19th century French work, dating to the Second Empire / Napol??on III period. Created by -mile Froment-Meurice. The inner edge of the lid bears the engraved signature FROMENT-MEURICE. Orf??vre-Joaillier de la ville de Paris - work by the Froment-Meurice family, official goldsmith-jeweller to the City of Paris. Birth gift from 1867, the inner side of the case bears a custom engraved inscription: L-ONTINE EMMA PARIS 16 NOVEMBRE 1867. For L??ontine Emma Dreyfus (16 Nov 1867 - 23 Jul 1945), later a donor to the Louvre Museum. The front of the lid is fully set with diamonds and sapphires. Raised relief monogram "E" in cursive script alludes to her given name "Emma". Etruscan Revival style.
