Amethyst Cameo, Enamel and Pearls .

3.2*2.93cm Wt:8.1g

Victorian gold brooch in the Etruscan-Revival taste, centred upon a carved amethyst high-relief cameo depicting a female bust with finely rendered facial features and hair. The circular mount combines twisted rope-form filigree and chased-gold ornament. Segments of black enamel are inlaid with gilded fleur-de-lis motifs, with pearls set at four cardinal points around the frame. Cameo portraiture revives Greco-Roman traditions, much admired in Victorian high-society jewellery; the fleur-de-lis carries aristocratic symbolic associations. The amethyst cameo retains sharp detail; enamel is intact, pearls are firmly set, pin-fitting in working order, overall in good preserved condition.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
