Dimension:29 1/2"L. The firearm uses an all-steel, Turkish-style miquelet lock plate. It features the classic external mainspring layout and a high-set, skeletonized cock (hammer).Unlike massive military muskets, the lock on this piece is scaled down to fit a slimmer, lighter hunting or cavalry carbine profile. The stock is carved from a single piece of premium curly/tiger maple wood, featuring striking horizontal bands of dark and light wood grain that ripple down the entire length of the gun. The butt terminates in a distinct, bright bone cap. This protects the end of the stock from splintering when it is repeatedly struck against the ground during muzzle-loading. Long muskets of this exact type were prized possessions among Ottoman-era Balkan mountaineers, particularly in regions like Albania, Montenegro, and northern Greece.
