Charming vintage hand-carved and painted wooden wren, posed alert with its tail characteristically raised and mounted on slender metal legs atop a rustic section of weathered wood. The bird is finished in warm reddish-brown tones with cream underparts, dark wing and tail accents, finely painted feather markings, inset eyes, and a sharply pointed black bill. The upright tail, compact body, and delicate stance give the carving a lively, naturalistic appearance. No maker’s signature or identifying inscription is visible in the supplied photographs. Condition shows light age-related wear with scattered scratches, rubbing, minor paint loss, and natural cracking and weathering to the wood base. Measures 7.25"H x 4"W x 4"D.
