Decorative vintage hand-knotted wool accent rug featuring a dense allover floral design worked across a deep black field in muted shades of cream, rose, sage, tan, and soft green. The central field is filled with large stylized blossoms, palmettes, curling vines, and leafy tendrils, all framed by a broad burgundy-red border incorporating repeating floral and scroll motifs. Narrow dark guard borders and white fringed ends complete the traditional Oriental-inspired presentation. The overall design is closely related to Persian and Indo-Persian floral carpets, though no specific regional attribution or maker can be confirmed from the single photograph. Comparable small hand-knotted wool rugs with black or dark fields, red borders, and floral decoration continue to appear regularly at auction. The rug presents attractively with a pleasantly muted palette and appears in generally good vintage condition, showing expected light pile wear, minor surface soiling, scattered fading or color variation, and some unevenness,wear and light stains to the fringed ends consistent with age and use.
