Set of six traditional Queen Anne style dining chairs by Sumter Cabinet Company of Sumter, South Carolina, comprising four side chairs and two armchairs, each constructed in a warm medium-brown wood finish with tall shaped backs centered by pierced vase-form splats and boldly carved shell-and-scroll cresting. The chairs are raised on substantial turned and reeded front legs, while the two armchairs incorporate gracefully curved open arms terminating in rolled handrests. Each seat is upholstered in an ivory damask-patterned fabric that gives the set a formal, understated appearance. Manufacturer labeling beneath the seats identifies Sumter Cabinet Company and carries an April 24, 1998 production date, providing unusually specific dating for the set. Condition is good structurally with general light finish wear consistent with use; the upholstery shows noticeable staining and discoloration, including darker brown spotting and larger yellowed areas to several seats, and would benefit from professional cleaning or replacement. Armless chairs measure 45"H x 22"W x 20"D and 2 arm chairs measure 45"H x 25"W x 20"D and seat height is 18"H.
