French cased dessert flatware set by Burley & Co., France, comprising twelve pieces with six knives and six three-tine forks, each fitted with smooth tapered green handles and decorative silver-tone ferrules worked with stylized foliate ornament. The knife blades and fork heads are clearly stamped “BURLEY & CO / FRANCE.” The strong emerald-green handles give the set a striking period appearance, particularly when contrasted with the restrained metal mounts, making it an attractive example of early-to-mid 20th-century French decorative tableware. A comparable vintage Burley & Co. green-handled French flatware set is documented with similarly colored synthetic handles, supporting the maker and general period attribution. The twelve pieces remain housed in their original fitted presentation case with cream satin lining and shaped compartments. Condition is generally good for age with expected surface scratches, oxidation and discoloration to the metal, scattered handling wear to the green handles, and age-related staining and wear to the case interior and exterior.Forks measure 6"long and knives are 6.75"long and case is 1.25"H x 12.5"W x 8"D.
