Group of three vintage match containers comprising a figural owl-form metal match safe and two advertising matchboxes retaining matches. The owl is modeled in relief with layered feather decoration, a hinged head, inset red eye detail, and a striker surface along the underside; the interior of the lid is marked “66.” The two advertising boxes include a Diamond Match Co. “Green Goddess” safety matchbox with colorful illustrated label and a Swedish “The Sociable” impregnated safety match box with period figural advertising graphic, both retaining quantities of original-style wooden matches. The owl match safe shows scattered scuffs, scratches, oxidation, and surface wear, while both wooden/cardboard matchboxes exhibit age-related wear, edge losses, staining, creasing, and other damage consistent with handling and storage.
