Charming mixed collection of four vintage decorative animal figures highlighted by a colorful pair of glazed pottery frog figures, one in mottled green and the other in a vivid yellow glaze, both molded in a crouching pose with expressive painted eyes and details and impressed “ITALY” to the undersides. The lot also includes a wonderfully aged green parakeet or budgerigar figure with delicately painted feathering, long tapered tail, glassy painted eyes, and an attached metal spring clip beneath for fastening to a branch, display, or decorative arrangement. Completing the group is a substantial hand-formed pottery bird sculpture with a rounded, almost primitive modernist silhouette, highly textured porous brown body, contrasting mottled green glazed wings, small recessed eyes, and an incised artist or maker’s mark to the underside that is difficult to decipher. Together the pieces offer a pleasing mix of whimsical mid-century and folk-art character, with varied ceramic techniques and decorative appeal. Overall condition is consistent with age and use, including scattered surface wear, rubbing, minor glaze and finish irregularities, oxidation to the parakeet’s metal clip, and some wear and discoloration to the bird figure; no major losses are immediately apparent from the photographs.
