Antique hand-turned wooden grain measure from India, featuring a deep cylindrical body, wide flared rim, and concentric turned bands around the upper and lower sections. This type of vessel was traditionally used for measuring rice, grain, lentils, and other dry goods. The piece has excellent primitive character with extensive age-related wear, old repairs, patching, cracks, staining, discoloration, surface losses, and a naturally developed patina. Measures approximately 16 inches high x 14 inches wide. Appears to date to the late 19th to early 20th century. Exact maker, region of origin, and precise age have not been independently verified. Condition shows substantial wear appropriate for age and use, including cracks, old repairs, surface wear, staining, losses, and other age-related imperfections. Please review all photographs closely for condition and construction. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
