Old hand-turned wooden grain measure or rice measure from India, featuring a large rounded body, flared upper rim, and concentric turned decorative bands. This type of vessel was traditionally used for measuring grain, rice, lentils, and other dry goods. The piece has a heavily aged surface with extensive wear, discoloration, scratches, cracks, old repairs/patching, and a deep naturally developed patina that gives it excellent primitive character. Measures approximately 16 inches high x 14 inches wide. Appears to be an older Indian utilitarian vessel, likely dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. Exact age, maker, and region of origin have not been independently verified. Condition shows substantial wear appropriate for age and use, including surface wear, cracks, losses, old repairs, discoloration, and other age-related imperfections. Please review all photographs closely for condition and construction. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
