Antique Adams & Westlake railroad lantern marked "D.L.&W. R.R." for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. Top bears the manufacturer’s Chicago markings and "The Adams? name. Features a clear glass globe, protective metal cage, circular wire base and carrying handle. Estimated early 1900s. Measures approximately 15.5 inches tall with the handle raised and 7 inches in diameter at the base. Metal surfaces show extensive surface rust, oxidation, dust and age-related wear. Clear globe shows cloudiness and residue; no railroad lettering is confirmed on the globe in these photographs. Fuel reservoir and burner components are visible. Operation has not been tested.
