Vintage Jakel Aeromatic Glider Gun & Box Top

Updated September 18, 2026

Era: Circa late 1940s–1950s Vintage Aeromatic Glider Gun manufactured by Jakel Co. of Detroit, Michigan. This unusual pressed-steel toy was designed to launch lightweight glider airplanes from the open channel along the top. The gun measures approximately 9 inches long and retains its original dark blue finish, metal trigger and launcher mechanism. Included is only the illustrated top portion of its original Aeromatic Glider Gun box. The remaining box, gliders and instructions are not included. The box top displays substantial creasing, tears, edge wear and missing sections. The gun has scratches, finish wear, surface oxidation and old label residue consistent with age. The launching mechanism has not been tested. This is a vintage toy glider launcher and not a functional firearm.
