DRAGON AND PHOENIX PATTERNS FROM THE WARRING STATES PERIOD. <br>Diameter:20.5cm (8.07in) , Weight:1282g (2.826lb) Warring States Bronze Mirror Gilded and Inlaid with Turquoise, Colored Glaze with Dragon and Phoenix Patterns This circular bronze mirror dates to the Warring States Period, cast with bronze base. Its knob is gilded beast shape inlaid with turquoise. Multi-layer intertwined dragon and phoenix patterns are formed by gilding, dotted with dark blue glass beads. The ground is filled with turquoise and red lacquer, with square frames dividing the main decoration, and the outer edge encircled by gilded auspicious beast scroll patterns. Combining gilding, turquoise mosaic, glass inlay and lacquer filling, this mirror was used for daily grooming in ancient times. Dragon and phoenix motifs stand for auspiciousness.
