An American Federal cherry secretary bookcase. Early 19th century. Cherry in two sections, with paneled cabinet doors enclosing shelves, a slant-front writing surface opening to fitted drawers and pigeonholes, and four graduated lower drawers. Brass oval pulls and bracket feet. Condition: Surface wear, scratches, shrinkage separations, and scattered molding losses. Significant splits and losses to the cabinet door panels. Interior fittings have loose or missing elements. Lower backboards split and repaired.
