A Federal tall case clock, John Schallenberger. Pennsylvania, c.1800–1815. Oak and mixed-wood case with arched bonnet, turned hood columns, paneled trunk door, molded waist, and shaped bracket feet. Painted iron face with Arabic-numerals, signed ‘John Schallenberger,’ with subsidiary seconds and calendar registers, floral spandrels, and moon-phase arch. Condition: Extensive surface wear, scratches, finish variation, and scattered molding losses. Dial stained and worn; hour, minute, and seconds hands absent. Lower backboard is broken and substantially detached. Weights and pendulum not shown; movement completeness and working condition unknown.
