Square serving tray in cast metal with a bold checkerboard border of inlaid red and cream tiles set into dark grout. The center is a plain, slightly dished panel with a soft brushed finish, and the underside is flat with a raised center. No maker mark is visible in the photos, which is normal for this kind of hand-inlaid decorative metalware. It measures roughly 10-1/2 inches square against the ruler. Good condition with surface scratches, light pitting and some darkening to the metal, and a few tiles showing minor discoloration; no cracked or missing tiles are visible. Because the metal is uncoated and the inlay is set in grout, it is best used as a decorative tray, catchall or candle base rather than for direct food service. Sold as-is.
