Three antique men's grooming and barbering pieces. (1) A wood-backed leather razor strop about 13 inches long that still carries its original printed directions label reading Badger's Emerson's Elastic Razor Strap, Manufactory, Badger Place, Charlestown, Mass., successor of the late Benjamin Badger, No. 51 Elm Street - a 19th century Boston-area maker. A surviving paper label like this is what strop collectors look for. (2) A folding straight razor in a two-piece cardboard box printed NEW ERA RAZOR MADE IN U.S.A.; the blade tang is stamped WADE and BUTCHER SHEFFIELD, a well-known English razor house, and one box end is embossed with a small hooked-cross good luck device of the sort used on American packaging before the 1930s. (3) A steel marcel curling iron with turned wood handles, roughly 8-1/2 inches long. Condition is fair overall: the strop label is chipped and worn, the razor blade has rust spotting, and the curling iron shows rust and wear to the handles. Sold as-is.
