Toyo Crackle Glaze Chinese Style Floral Plate

Round decorative plate by Toyo in the Chinese export famille rose taste, finished with an allover crackle glaze. The fine web of lines across the cream ground is a deliberate crackle effect built into the glaze, not damage. The wide rose and mauve border carries stylized Greek key medallions, a flowering scroll band and a lattice ring, and the center holds a bouquet of roses, asters and small blue and orange blossoms. It measures about 9-1/4 inches across against the ruler. The back has a gold Toyo Made in China foil label and a red stamp reading FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSE ONLY. NOT FOR FOOD USE MAY POISON FOOD, so this is a display or wall plate rather than dinnerware. Very good condition with no chips or losses seen; a few short dark lines in the center and at the right read as stained crackle rather than cracks. Sold as-is.
