This set comprises two vintage Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls, hand-painted on wood with a glossy lacquer finish. The first doll features a red headscarf with yellow polka dots, a green bodice, and a yellow apron decorated with red geometric patterns. The face is painted with blue eyes and blonde hair. The second doll features a dark green headscarf and a black dress adorned with red and yellow floral motifs and green leaves. The face is painted with blue eyes and brown hair. Both dolls are hollow and designed to hold additional smaller nesting figures within. The underside of the wooden base features handwritten characters in blue ink, including the numeral 1 followed by a dash and a character resembling a 3 or w. Height approx. 4.25 in (measured against a ruler; only inches shown). Condition: The items appear to be in good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. No visible repairs, chips, or cracks are noted.
