A pair of Philco Nine Transistor portable radios featuring black textured cases, chrome-finished metal trim, and silver-tone perforated speaker grilles. Each unit is equipped with a circular clear plastic tuning dial at the top, marked with a blue indicator line and frequency numerals 54, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 16, along with cross symbols. The base of each radio has a silver-tone plate marked P H I L C O on the upper line and N I N E T R A N S I S T O R on the lower line, separated by a thin blue horizontal stripe. Each unit includes a side-mounted thumbwheel for power and volume control, and a black vinyl carrying strap attached to the metal top frame. The underside of each radio features a sliding metal compartment door marked B A T T E R Y and O P E N. Dimensions measured against a ruler: H approx. 6 1/8 in. Condition: Both radios exhibit signs of age and use, including surface dust and light oxidation on the metal grilles and chrome components. There is minor scuffing to the textured exterior surfaces. The silver-tone nameplate on one unit shows slight lifting at the corner. The radios are untested for functionality.
