A pair of hand-carved folk art figurines depicting a standing woman and a seated man playing an accordion. The sculptures are constructed from two distinct types of stone; the heads and torsos are carved from translucent white alabaster or onyx, while the lower sections are fashioned from a mottled grey and brown stone. The figures are rendered in a naive style with simplified features and polished surfaces. The man wears a flat cap and sits upon a stone bench that serves as the base. Incised markings are visible on the base of the accordion player, though they are not clearly legible. Standing figure height approx. 10.8 cm Seated figure height approx. 9.5 cm (Measured against a ruler showing inches only). Condition: The figurines are in good overall condition with polished surfaces throughout. There are minor surface abrasions and light handling marks present. No chips, cracks, or signs of repair are visible.
