Marlin Model 1895 "125th Anniversary" Commemorative, .45-70 Govt Item: Marlin Model 1895CLTD "125th Anniversary" Commemorative Caliber: .45-70 Government Manufacturer: The Marlin Firearms Co., North Haven, CT Finish: Engraved satin receiver, blued barrel and magazine tube; checkered walnut stock and forearm Condition: Excellent, minimal handling wear, crisp engraving Handsome Marlin Model 1895CLTD lever-action rifle, chambered in .45-70 Government and issued to commemorate Marlin's 125th year in business. The barrel is stamped "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO., NORTH HAVEN, CT U.S.A. — MODEL 1895CLTD, CAL. 45/70 GOV'T". The satin-finished receiver is engraved with a mounted cowboy scene bordered in scrollwork and flourishes, banner-inscribed "MARLIN FIREARMS CO. 125TH ANNIVERSARY." The stock and forearm are cut from attractive, richly figured walnut with fine diamond-point checkering, and the rifle carries a deep blued round barrel and magazine tube. Presentation is excellent throughout, with crisp engraving and minimal handling wear. A great commemorative pickup for Marlin collectors — the classic big-bore 1895 lever action dressed up with dedicated anniversary artwork and a matching serial number.
