The barrel is roll-marked "Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc., Southport, Conn. U.S.A." with the "7x57" caliber designation stamped ahead of the receiver, and the receiver ring is marked "Ruger M77" with individual serial number. The action carries Ruger's classic controlled-round-feed bolt with Mauser-style claw extractor and a smooth, low-swept bolt handle, backed by a hinged floorplate for quick unloading. This example is fitted with fully functional open sights — a ramp-mounted front blade and an adjustable rear sight — making it a ready-to-hunt rifle straight out of the safe with no glass required, while the receiver remains drilled and tapped for a scope should the next owner want one. The walnut stock is nicely figured and dressed with crisp point-pattern diamond checkering at the pistol grip and forend, finished with a black forend tip and a red rubber recoil pad set off by a black spacer line for a classic sporting profile. Metal finish on the barrel and action is deep and glossy with only light, honest handling marks, and the stock shows a good original finish with minor surface wear consistent with careful use.
