Title: Multicolor Drip Composition Technique: Oil on paper Measures: 14 x 20 inches (35.6 x 50.8 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Good overall condition. The sheet presents extensive layered pigment application with overlapping drips, splatters, pours, and linear passages throughout. Minor handling wear, age-related toning, scattered spotting, and a small area of discoloration or surface wear near the lower-right corner are visible. The work appears stable and display-ready, retaining its vivid coloration and energetic visual impact. Presented under glazing in a silver-tone frame showing light wear. Provenance: From a private American collection. According to family history, the work was acquired at an estate sale on Long Island and subsequently retained in private hands. No supporting documentation concerning the sale or earlier ownership accompanied the work. This provenance reflects the history supplied when the artwork was received for cataloging. Visual Description: This horizontal abstraction presents a dense network of black, white, red, blue, olive green, brown, and ochre pigment distributed across a neutral ground. Broad pools and irregular pours intersect with thin looping lines, scattered droplets, and tightly layered splashes of color. The all-over arrangement eliminates a conventional focal point, allowing the eye to move continuously across the activated surface. Variations in line thickness, direction, and pigment accumulation create a pronounced sense of spontaneity, physical movement, and layered depth. Bears an inscription appearing to read “Jackson Pollock” near the lower left.
