This is a Hand-Carved Hollowed Log Drum in the Southwestern Native American / Pueblo tradition. Standing an impressive 22" tall and measuring 18" wide, this large-format drum is crafted from a solid hollowed tree trunk section showcasing natural knots and rustic graining. Designed with versatility in mind, it features dual playable natural rawhide heads on both the top and bottom ends, allowing it to be played from either side. Bound by heavy-duty criss-cross rawhide lacing along the sides,it includes an integrated woven rawhide handle and a matching leather-padded drum mallet. Ideal for ceremonial acoustic rhythm, musical performance, or as a statement floor centerpiece for Southwestern home decor. It is in excellent vintage condition. Both rawhide heads remain taut, however one has heavy wear patterns around the edges. It is clean, and completely intact with strong resonance and no cracks. All side lacing is tight and functional.
