Artist: Paul Cloutier RCA Title: Flower (II) Medium: Original monoprint on paper Sight: 13 × 18.5 in. Framed: 21 × 27 in. Signature/Inscription: Signed/inscribed Cloutier in pencil; titled Flower 1/1 An original abstract monoprint by Canadian printmaker Paul Cloutier, featuring layered organic and geometric forms rendered in a subtle palette of pale blue, turquoise, ochre, rust, grey and cream. Sprayed and stippled passages create a richly textured surface, while overlapping shapes suggest fragmented botanical forms. Artist Biography Paul Cloutier was born in Montmagny, Quebec in 1946 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Québec and Université Laval before undertaking further printmaking studies in the Netherlands and at the Kala Institute in Berkeley, California. He became particularly recognized for etching and collagraphy and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Cloutier was a founding member of Atelier Circulaire, an important Montreal printmaking centre. Atelier Circulaire states that his works entered major public and private collections, including the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal and Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal. Cloutier died in Quebec City on December 7, 2025
