Provenance: Private Collection An atmospheric original oil on canvas by noted Canadian artist Fred Tymoshenko, titled Dark Is Coming Fast and dated 1979 on the reverse. Executed in the artist's characteristic semi-abstract landscape style, the composition features an expansive horizon beneath an expressive evening sky rendered in layered blues, greys, ochres, and rich earth tones. Artist Biography: Fred Tymoshenko (1937–2017) was a respected Canadian painter celebrated for his atmospheric landscapes that bridged realism and abstraction. Born in Saskatchewan to Ukrainian immigrant parents, he studied at the University of Manitoba School of Art before relocating to Ontario, where he developed a distinguished career spanning more than five decades.Tymoshenko's paintings are recognized for their luminous skies, expansive horizons, and richly textured surfaces that capture the emotional character of the Canadian landscape rather than its literal appearance. His work has been exhibited extensively throughout Canada and is represented in numerous corporate, private, and public collections. His paintings have consistently appeared at leading Canadian fine art auctions, where they continue to be sought after by collectors for their timeless interpretation of Canada's natural environment.
