A serene and sophisticated large-format abstract entitled Pink Distance, painted in 1984 by Canadian artist Sheila Maki. Executed in a restrained palette of warm greys, soft taupes, blush pinks, pale blues and cream, the composition features a network of flowing horizontal lines that evoke the movement of wind, water, or distant horizons. Its generous scale and calming palette make it particularly well suited to modern, contemporary, and architectural interiors. Artist Biography Sheila Maki is a Canadian contemporary painter known for her refined abstract compositions emphasizing colour, line, and spatial harmony. Working primarily in acrylic, Maki developed a minimalist visual language that explores movement and atmosphere through subtle tonal relationships and graceful linear forms. Her works have been exhibited in Ontario galleries and are held in numerous private collections, particularly those focused on late twentieth-century Canadian abstraction.
