A Whitman bookshelf album, number 9418, for Washington quarters from 1932, 81 of its 84 slots filled by 90 percent silver quarters. The page 1 photographs show the 1932-D and 1932-S slots standing wide open, and those two are the series keys. With them gone, most of the collector value is gone and what remains is a bullion lot in a book. The 1932 Philadelphia coin is still present in the first slot, and one unlabeled slot at the lower right of page 4 is empty too. The quarters are well circulated gray with tan toning; the 1938-S is blotched brown and green, the 1948-S orange-brown and the 1958 copper toned, and the 1960 and 1961-D show small red-pink rim spots. The cover is scuffed with a torn label patch and a dark stain, and blue painters tape runs down the inside spine by the page 1 coins. All 81 quarters present are dated 1964 or earlier, so all are 90 percent silver: 20.25 in face value, about 14.65 troy ounces of pure silver, near $967 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, so check spot before you bid. Estimated Value: $850 to $1,050. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
