Mike Borrett (b. 1960) Madison, WI, 2004 plaque 22.5" fish 17.75" Carved from wood with finely detailed paint and surface texture, this piece displays exceptional craftsmanship. The gills and mouth are intricately rendered, the eyes are set with glass, and the fine teeth are created using small dabs of glue. All fins are carefully carved including the pelvic and pectoral fins which is less than common for Borrett. The fish is mounted on a wooden plaque that is signed and dated by the artist.Condition: Excellent and original
