Mike Borrett (b. 1960) Madison, WI, 2008 plaque 19.25" fish 18" Carved from wood with finely detailed paint and surface texture, this piece displays exceptional craftsmanship. The gills and mouth are intricately rendered, the eyes are set with glass, and the fine teeth are created using small dabs of glue. All fins are carefully carved, with the exception of the pectoral and pelvic fins, which are fashioned from malleable lead, allowing them to be adjusted into the viewers preferred position. The fish is mounted on a natural wooden plaque that is signed and dated by the artist.Condition: Excellent and original
