Vintage set of eight Mexican sterling silver overlay drinking glasses/tumblers with removable clear glass inserts and elaborate pierced floral and fruit decoration. The silver sleeves feature dense hand-worked botanical motifs surrounding the glass, with each piece marked “HECHO EN MEXICO 925” along with an additional maker or workshop mark that appears to read RMH. The glasses measure approximately 5" tall, with openings measuring approximately 2.75" in diameter and bases approximately 2" wide. The clear glass inserts are removable from the sterling silver sleeves. One of the eight glasses is missing its glass insert, leaving seven complete glasses and one silver holder without glass. The sterling displays natural tarnish, oxidation, patina, and age-related surface wear. See photos for full details. Total weight 1,262 Grams One cup does not have the glass inside, it weighs 48 grams. We assume 48 x 8 would mean approximately is 384 grams of silver.
