Vintage set of six Mexican sterling silver overlay coupe/champagne glasses featuring removable clear glass inserts and ornate pierced rose-and-leaf decoration around each bowl. The pedestal holders have slender stems and broad circular bases. The underside is hallmarked “STERLING 925” and “HECHO EN MEXICO,” confirming Mexican .925 sterling silver construction. This type of pierced floral overlay over removable glass is characteristic of Mexican silver barware. Each measures approximately 4.5" tall with the glass insert, with the silver holder approximately 4.25" tall. Bases measure approximately 3" in diameter, and the tops approximately 3.5" in diameter. All six glass inserts are present. The sterling shows substantial natural tarnish, oxidation, surface wear, and patina consistent with age and use. See photos for full details. The glass came out of one of the cordials, it weighted 42 grams. We assume 42 x 6 grams = 252 Grams of Silver as it's total weight.
