Serial # 482. .31 caliber black powder percussion fired double action revolving pepperbox with a 3-1/4” ribbed barrel cluster with 6 barrels. The bores are very good, light fouling with no rust. The bar hammer is marked “Allens Patent”. The barrels are marked “Allen & Thurber Worchester” and “Patented 1837 Cast Steel”. The metal finish on the barrels is a brownish gray patina with scratches and scattered light surface rust. The lightly engraved nipple shield is screwed to the frame and is a worn bare gray patina with older cleaned surface rust. The lightly engraved frame is a worn gray patina with scattered older cleaned surface rust. The walnut grips are in good to very good condition showing scattered light marks with finish wear. The action works fine. Worcester marked pepperboxes were made from 1847-1865.
