R Serial # 493397. 6.5x50mm caliber Japanese caliber bolt action rifle with a 31-1/2” barrel. The bore is fair, dark with good rifling with some heavy frosting/fouling. It may clean better. Made at the Koishikawa Arsenal in Tokyo in the mid-1920’s. No series markings. The blued metal finish on the barrel and receiver is in fair condition showing heavy wear and thinning with scratches and older cleaned rust; the finish is turning slightly brown. The trigger guard, floor plate, upper and lower tang are worn to near bare metal and have a slight brown patina. The barrel band are a brown patina with edge wear. Original front and rear sights. The military stock and handguard have been cleaned and are in good military condition showing numerous dings, dents and scratches. The mum has been ground. Steel butt plate. The numbers are mis-matched. The action works fine. Includes the cleaning rod. C&R.
