Sterling Weighted Candlesticks

A pair of American weighted sterling silver candlesticks featuring square-sectioned, tapering stems decorated with etched foliate and floral motifs. The stems rise from weighted circular stepped bases to urn-shaped sconces with wide, flared circular rims. The underside of each base is stamped with a maker's mark within a diamond-shaped cartouche containing the initials WBP (recheck), above the word STERLING and the model number 1085. Each is further inscribed WEIGHTED WITH STEEL TUBE & WEIGHTS. The construction consists of a sterling silver outer casing over a non-precious core. Weight: 408 g (total gross weight). approx. 170~220 grams of sterling Condition: The pair exhibits significant iridescent tarnish (patina) across all surfaces, showing a range of gold, purple, and blue hues. There are visible surface scratches and general wear to the silver casing throughout, consistent with age and use.
