Walt Disney Productions Ceramic Turnabout Dumbo Co

This vintage glazed ceramic cookie jar features the Disney character Dumbo in a turnabout design, presenting two distinct facial expressions and poses on opposite sides. The front of the jar includes a raised, embossed banner reading DUMBO in block letters. The underside of the base contains several embossed markings including Patented at the top, a middle line reading TURNABOUT DUMBO, and a lower line reading Walt Disney Prod for Walt Disney Productions. Portions of the base markings are obscured by remnants of old paper labels and adhesive residue. The piece is finished in a creamy white glaze with cold-painted accents in blue, red, and yellow.Height: 13 inchesBase Width: 6.5 inchesThe cookie jar is in fair vintage condition. Heavy, all-over crazing is present on both the interior and exterior surfaces. There is significant loss to the cold paint on the eyes, mouths, and yellow hat details. A yellowish-brown stain is visible on the forehead of one face as seen in photo 5, and scattered red paint specks are visible on the ears. The base shows shelf wear with darkening to the unglazed foot ring and substantial adhesive residue. No structural cracks or major repairs are visible.
