A vintage two-part ceramic cookie jar depicting the Sesame Street character Big Bird. The piece consists of a removable lid formed by the head and neck, which rests on a body section depicting the character seated within a textured nest. The exterior features molded feather detailing throughout. The base is incised with a copyright symbol followed by the text MUPPETS INC in block letters; a second line of text below this is not legible. The interior rim of the lid is incised with the numeral 971.Height: 13 inchesBase Diameter: 6.5 inches.The cookie jar is in fair vintage condition with significant cosmetic wear. Widespread paint loss and flaking is present across the brown-painted nest area, revealing the white ceramic body underneath. A small chip is visible on the interior top rim of the base section. The yellow painted surfaces show scattered minor scuffs and light surface soiling within the recessed molded details. No cracks or repairs are visible.
