An assortment of 10 vintage picture books issued as part of the Weekly Reader Children's Book Club mail-order program. This collection, primarily dating from the mid-1960s, includes several notable titles such as the Caldecott Medal winner Sam, Bangs & Moonshine by Evaline Ness and Be Nice to Spiders by Margaret Bloy Graham. Other titles include Cannonball Simp by John Burningham, The Horse Who Lived Upstairs by Phyllis McGinley, and two books by Jane Thayer illustrated by Seymour Fleishman. Each volume features pictorial cloth or paper-covered boards.
