Original uncut Dolly Dingle paper doll page from the November 1921 Pictorial Review, matted and framed under glass in a thin black metal frame. The headline reads Plays The Courtship of Miles Standish, with the credit line Drawings by Grace G. Drayton. The sheet shows Priscilla in a Puritan dress and bonnet, John Alden with his hat, blue outfit and a bouquet of roses, and Miles Standish with his suit, helmet and a gun that slips behind his head. The artist signature G. G. Drayton with a copyright mark appears in the artwork, and story text at the bottom retells the Longfellow poem. The bottom credit line reads Pictorial Review for November, 1921. The frame measures roughly eleven by fourteen inches against the ruler shown, and the back has two hangers. Condition is fair to good for its age. The paper is toned and lightly foxed, the top of the title line has been trimmed or torn away, there are tears along the left edge, and a tear runs across the Miles Standish figure. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
