Single vintage omega collar necklace in a bright yellow gold color. An omega is a row of short flat metal segments locked side by side over a flexible backing, which is why it holds an open collar shape on its own instead of draping like a strand. That construction lets it sit up on the collarbone and look much heavier than the piece really is. This example is a narrow width, roughly one eighth of an inch, and it closes with a fold-over box clasp that tucks down flush at the back of the neck. The finish is bright and even all the way around with no green corrosion, no dull patches, and no separation between the segments, which is the failure point on most old omega necklaces. Everything flexes smoothly and the clasp snaps and holds. Condition is very good. No metal stamp or maker name is visible anywhere on the band or the clasp, so this is offered as gold colored costume jewelry and not as gold. The seller notes it is not gold. It works alone or as a base for a slide pendant. Estimated Value: $15 to $30 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
