Gold Tone Nugget Link Chain Necklace

Single vintage necklace in a flat, semi-rigid chain in a bright yellow gold color. Each link is stamped with a rough faceted nugget texture, so the chain catches light in dozens of small points instead of laying down as a smooth mirror, and it reads much heavier than it actually is. The chain is about a quarter inch wide and holds its shape well when laid out. It closes with a fold-over box clasp that snaps down flat and sits almost invisible at the back of the neck. The finish is bright and even end to end with no dark spots, no worn patches down to base metal, and no bent or missing links visible in the photos. Condition is very good. No metal stamp or maker name is visible anywhere on the chain or the clasp, so this is offered as gold colored costume jewelry and not as gold. Nugget texture chain came out of the 1970s and 1980s taste for chunky gold jewelry. It wears well on its own or as a base for a pendant. Estimated Value: $15 to $30 based on comparable recent sales.
