This is a limited-edition print # 16/195. Depicts a Native American warrior sitting atop a horse The warrior holds a long spear or lance decorated with feathers that stretch into the top left corner. John Nieto (1936 – 2018) was a highly influential contemporary American painter who was celebrated for his radically transformative visual style of Southwest and Indigenous art. He became globally renowned as a brilliant colorist who was the very first artist to successfully fuse European Fauvism with subjects native to North America. His unique, emotionally charged pieces depict solitary, proud figures including Native American Warriors and Chieftains as well as important regional landscapes. This print is a limited numbered Serigraph that is formally framed, matted and under glass housed in a classic ornate metallic gold frame. Frame measures 23.25” tall x 21.25” wide.
